For whom? Why multiply bread?
If we open the Bible to read the stories of the Lord’s gift of bread, from the gift of manna to the Hebrew people suffering from hunger and thirst as they crossed the desert (Exodus 16) to Christ’s multiplication of loaves for the crowds who followed him to listen to him and who found themselves in the situation where it was getting late and they could not find a place to buy anything, we can find an answer to these questions.
There is always an abundance of the gift, and God invites the person who receives it to trust that he does not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. From the bread that came from heaven in the Old Testament, it is Christ himself who became the Bread of God, the Bread of life, which gives life to all who eat it.
We invite you to experience this spiritual journey through the reading and internalization of biblical texts, as well as through a bread-kneading workshop.
This workshop will allow everyone to experience the process of making bread, this rich and complex food. Led step by step by Blandine Petitpoisson-Hellot, it is a complete transmission of this art of artisanal, traditional, and personal production of long-life sourdough bread, from the selection of ingredients to baking and tasting.
An agricultural engineer, baker, and passionate about nature and rural life, she created the “nature knowledge” activity to help reconnect with nature and others. She believes that through working together and discovering nature, a joy and a sense of being in the world are created.
The spiritual component is led by the Sisters of Our Lady of Calvary: Sisters Catherine and Cécile.
