Gramat / Rocamadour
10 minutes drive from Gramat, the ancient village of Rocamadour perches on a cliff dominating the Alzou canyon. Carved into the rock is a castle, medieval street and sanctuary with seven different chapels.
While Rocamadour is a highly recommended must-see, there are many other enchanting sites and places for you, your friends or your family. Imagine dreams coming true as you give a monkey a treat, nurse an animal, visit a cave in a small boat, discover another one with a black light, or how about being hovered over by an eagle?… Let your childhood sense of adventure loose for unforgettable memories !
“This ancient mill is on the GR6. It is a ruin, yet you still sense its great energy. The Ouysse river once turned the mill wheels, and you can see where the river has carved into the rocky walls. There’s a pretty waterfall close by, that is especially strong after it’s been raining. I like following the movement of the granite walls pushed around by tectonic plates. It’s amazing.”
